Assignment sheet for each unit
AP Class - Lecture 2 days/week about 1/2 hour a day - does this for approximately 4 weeks or however long it takes to get through the chapter
When not lecturing then the students are "working on their stuff" - projects assigned to
Differentiation instruction - students select type of software (Google Earth, Photo Story, Moviemaker, Word, Excel, etc.) to be used to complete the project - different approach for the same assignment
Has laptops in his classroom and facilitates the learning
Homework is for students to be ready for the test when it comes
Students also create trading cards on topic covered; if student collects 100 or more trading cards, then they receive extra credit points
AP test preparation - students complete a lot of essays; gives a writing prompt and students have to use examples from the reading and getting used to higher level thinking

  2. Making connections - TIGed works as the manager
  3. Kids search on TIGed and create Photo Story projects on World War I
  4. Used hard rock music that relates to the sections of the story--KISS, Metallica, etc.
  5. Will take what his students have learned and hopefully connect with another school overseas
  6. Students go to TIGed to blog, obtain assignments that have been posted, connect w/other schools
  7. Can have the class private or public - Mr. Woods keeps his class private
  8. Got rid of his textbooks and all assignments are the "online textbooks"
